Word for Word is an ongoing series of poems constructed from thrifted books and found text. Working primarily from a single page at a time, Solorzano cuts and rearranges language intuitively—allowing meaning to surface rather than directing it.
Each piece is created in a state of quiet attention, moving through the page until certain words insist on being kept—a kind of listening. What results feels less written than revealed: meditations on growth, joy, agency, and the freedom to choose one’s own becoming.
Glued to envelopes and scrap paper, the poems remain grounded in their material origins—messages assembled from what was already there.
